CYCLE OF CARE - (MENSTRUAL HEALTH)

It is crucial to educate and create awareness among all adolescent girls between the ages of 13 to 19 about menstrual health and proper hygiene. It is because women especially those living in rural areas are still not aware of using sanitary pads and use cloth to control their bleeding. Moreover, they also have various wrong myths and superstitions about their periods.

Chitravansham Society is already working on spreading more awareness about menstrual health and hygiene. We are encouraging adolescent girls on using  more high-quality sanitary napkins. Our focus is on rural areas. Also, we are educating adolescent girls about the cycle of menstrual periods, their gaps, and the key challenges they may face while menstrual hygiene and its management.

Our aim is to break this culture of shame, hesitation, and silence and allow women to speak more clearly about the problems of menstrual health and hygiene without the feeling of being ashamed and hesitant. We are making women and girls aware that menstruation is a normal and natural process that occurs almost in every woman and all myths and superstitions related to it are fake and wrong. We are also educating them about how to dispose of the sanitary pads safely and environmental-friendly manner after use.

Frequently Asked Questions

Poor hygiene during menstruation increases the risk of infection in the urinary tract and reproductive organs. Avoiding such health risks by adopting simple routines for preserving menstrual hygiene is a far better option.
We conduct several short educational drives for rural women to learn more about reproductive cycles and how they, like all other biological processes, are entirely natural. Guidance on how to use sanitary pads properly and how frequently they should be changed to avoid infections is given.
The Chitravansham Society is working with full dedication towards raising awareness about menstrual health and hygiene. We also work at the grassroots level to abolish all the myths and superstitions about periods, stating that menstruation is a completely natural process of the body and there should be no shame or hesitation towards it.
Every single donation, regardless of its size, is valued. Its indeed a case of the more, the better. Although it may not reach every woman out there, if even one woman benefits from an educational opportunity due to it, then its certainly worth it. The influence your contribution could have on someone elses life could be monumental and deeply transformative.
